How a $10,000 Bet on Facebook’s IPO Looks One Year Later

10000 Bet on the Facebook IPO Chart

It’s now been one year since the Facebook IPO, and you probably would have been better off investing your money in some Iraqi Dinar or Bitcoins instead.

A $10,000 investment in Facebook fared much worse than the same amount invested in Apple, Google, the S&P, and the Nasdaq. I don’t think anybody is scratching their head about this one.

Please don’t act surprised

Instantly Boost Your LinkedIn Endorsements Using These Simple SEO and PPC Techniques

LinkedIn's New Endorsements Functionality

If there was an SEO anonymous support group I’d introduce myself like this.

My name is Keith, and I have a problem. Anything that can be reverse engineered and optimized, I attempt to manipulate for fun, personal growth, or financial gain.

So naturally when LinkedIn introduced endorsements, I was all about it. The end game: getting a large amount of quality endorsements across areas I consider my strengths.

Deal or No Deal? Facebook Promises Reach of 1,000,000 for $1,500

Just an interesting note from my project Facebook fan page this morning. I crossed the 30,000 fan barrier and wanted to see how much Facebook would now let me spend on a sponsored post.

As the fan base has grown from 20,000 to 30,000 the amount of money Facebook will allow me to spend on a given post has grown from $100 to $1,500 with more than 10x the reach from 85,000 to an estimated 1,000,000 users.

New Bing Social Search Beta Invites Being Sent Out

At around midnight tonight I got an email from Bing with a link to try their new beta Social Search. The process was pretty simple, after I clicked the link to join, I was redirected to Facebook where I authorized the application to connect. After that I was redirected back to Bing with the default query “movies” already populated in the search box.

Pinterest Apps Posting to Facebook Wall Without Permission

Earlier today I had to do something that I don’t have to resort to very often, revoke the permission of a Facebook app I had previously authorized. I checked my Facebook timeline tonight, and discovered a slew of posts to my wall from Pinterest. Although I hadn’t used Pinterest in a few days, the posts were made since I last checked my Facebook wall this afternoon (in the last 6 hours).

New Meta 'NoPin" Code Lets You Block Pinterest

New Meta 'NoPin" Code Lets You Block Pinterest

While most people are looking for ways to get more of their images pinned, Pinterest quietly added a feature that allows Webmaster to block users from pinning their content. What if I don’t want images from my site to be pinned? Just add a meta “nopin” code to the <head> section of your website or blog. The tag universally applies to every page (and more importantly every image) hosted on your site.
